The Milo Accident part 5
Now comes an important segment of the tale. I would like to call it the two way problem. But before I progress, I would love to recap the story in a brief summary so that no one would get lost. My table tennis friend Akshat Hans fell in love with a girl, Si Hui of whom I was rather protective of. I helped him "get" that girl, a.k.a his wingman mostly because I could keep an eye on him and also because it was rather amusing. Once he got Si Hui or "fish's" number, our little spy game or what we call "information gathering" is over. Now is the killing time, the make or break session.
Now, the two way problem arises like this. Akshat's frequency of texting Si Hui grew exponentially in a matter of weeks. How did I know? He told me everything AT FIRST because ... well, he trusts me and the fact that among the first few texts he sends to her were ideas that I gave to him. It was all going well until finally I suspect obsession took over him and when fish did not reply for about an hour, Akshat would call me and ask a favour- to text her to see if she is avoiding him or not. I objected of course because personally, I had no business with fish at all. But curiosity took over and I would text her anyway and diligently updated Akshat about it. Everything I said was actually word to word what Akshat wanted me to say although I despise it until the day he asked me to be creative and text her anyways. he would check of course the next day just to be sure. Things in my opinion was going out of hand. This obsession was driving him crazy and he was becoming less of the friend that I used to know, the friend I swore never to hurt and to risk my entire life for.
I started by taking things under my own hand so I told her the truth. the fact that Akshat was the reason why I randomly asked for homework or to ask about her well-being. I guess she sort of understood and texted Akshat back so in a way I was doing my part in helping Akshat and also to be honest. He found out of course that i was not following his instructions fully. secrets are hard to keep among the bestest of friends. One day, he forcibly prised my phone off my hand and in some way, he hurt me unintentionally of course. it was my cue to call in reinforcements. They were Fahmi and Marzuqi, people of whom I have trusted unconditionally. I told them about Akshat and they too said that they realised something going on between fish and Akshat so basically, an informal pact was made to stop Akshat at all costs before someone gets hurt. Fahmi had the greatest influence on Si hui among us four but that guy always never show his cards. The anti-Akshat pact grew suspicious of one another after awhile which is disastrous.
Initially I was not very much anti-Akshat. I still do help him in many ways because of the sheer fun but it would have to be another day to tell about them. Basically to sum it up, I was double crossing every single one of them and to this day, I dont know why I did this and I am absolutely guilty. All because of the milo....
