Step 2: Hide your tracks
It is impossible to seclude your desperateness as we soon found out so Akshat and i came up with the usage of code names for every single people with possible connection with Si Hui to minimise this. Code names was soon tabulated in a formal treaty forged exactly on the day before Akshat's birthday in the year when I was in Secondary 4. The sole copy of the treaty which was about 5 pages is destroyed after a feud between us a few months later. Every one was given code names likened to a sea animal. Si hui was fish. Jesse was stingray. Shao yu was dolphin. Kit Yee, Abigail, jin ting, Ting Fang, Felicia, Xinee, Afiqah and about forty others received a code name that we used for communication on fragile sources like Facebook, plurk and even SMS. In that treaty I would like to call the Treaty Of Brotherhood lies the appendix of who Akshat could date with and who I could date with. Fish was clearly given to Akshat and I could not take her for mine.
Step 3: The Social Circle Theory
This theory was very much the basis of our Plans to get Akshat to know Si Hui better. To first know the girl, you have to know her friends and that is exactly where things start to go wrong. Now, the theory was drawn in hard draft paper showing several social "circles" that we have to invade and assimilate in. I have forgotten the details of the theory i am sorry because the truth is, I have tried so hard to bury the hatchet and forget this whole thing that surprisingly worked miracles. Her most obvious "clique" was the main target of course but she must have a back-up plan. People who she would disclose her secrets to and whom we could manipulate. my true purpose for helping Akshat by now was to monitor him closely actually and in my mind was that if ever he had crossed the line or lost his footing, I would back stab him. Hence come my first Plan I would like to shamefully disclose. Operation "Get her phone". Enjoy:)
Our Plans were very elaborate and not straightforward. We spent hours crafting the most ingenious way to get what we want and that I suspect was what really spooked her good. Operation Get her Phone was a success and so was Operation Get her Phone 2 and 3. the date was forgotten but not the important details. Oh and SHHHHH... top secret. Around September the first year, Akshat got the idea that he wanted to know who Si hui was close with and he needed to know it by looking at her text messages for the whole of the month before. Our timing had to be perfect. When Si hui and her friends get out of the class to change into their P.E clothes, I would lag behind slightly later, a mere 5 minutes and Akshat would time himself perfectly the moment when she passes by his class on the way to the toilet so that he could excuse himself out to "toilet" and get into the real business. Her skirt that most likely contained her phone would be placed on the table next to mine and easily accessible. When Akshat finally came into my class to see the progress of Operation get her Phone, I realised the phone was not in her skirt. Time was running out, Akshat went out to "distract" and buy me some time. Found the phone in her bag and skimmed through the text. By the time I was out of the classroom, I saw Akshat giving one of his stupid high5s to Si hui and stammering with her friends. he saw me outside and I smiled to indicate that it was a success. Ok, gotta go:)
